Then Elon Musk's Starship reached new heights and also new lows in a launch last night. It's Wednesday, May 28th. Let's ride.
Yeah, there was an interview with Elon Musk about a year ago that circles the web. You can find it if you go on X or Instagram, I'm sure. But where the interviewer is asking him about his life. And he stops the interviewer and says, you don't want my life, right? I think we hold up, you know, here's this guy who's got all these companies.
But two of these entities or three of them say it would increase the deficit quite a bit. And the bond market says it would increase the deficit. Elon Musk, the smartest person in the world, says it would basically increase the deficit. And it turns out that there are at least four GOP senators who think it would blow up the deficit. So you've got Tillis, Johnson, Scott, and Rand Paul.
So let's call it a success because they learned a bunch of things and they got further than they've been before. Speaking of Elon Musk, it makes me think of Tesla. which makes me think of this new feature. Sawyer Merritt's talking about this on X. Elon Musk this weekend was on CBS Sunday Morning, and he was saying, you know, the bill can't be both. It can't be big and beautiful. It can only be one. And the doge cuts are not in this thing. Take a look at what Elon Musk is saying on the subject.
Earlier in the year, it was down 40% to 50%. So terrific there. And Doge, I think the jury is very much still out as to whether it's been lots of noise or whether they have a real impact or not. I don't know, and it remains to be seen. So we're watching Doge, Elon Musk, Tesla. Musk says he's going to spend more time at Tesla. We'll see if that helps.
It's remarkable to see the US actually being able to cut some better trade deals and stabilize some of these trade situations. Literally fascinating. The second thing we'll talk about today is Elon Musk and Tesla and Doge. So here's my perspective. On Doge, the jury is very much still out on whether this is going to have any real impact in the long run.
