Today is June the 3rd, and this is the Charlotte City Council meeting where we actually try to address the committee issues, the things that we have put in the council committees. We do not do report outs. We actually ask for highlights if necessary, but tonight we have some very significant things to cover, and we're going to start with our Jobs and Economic Development Committee so that we can begin this and have everybody's attention. As we begin, Mr. Jones, we'll start with introductions, and we'll start with Mr. Bakari.

of like that, you know. Thank you, Mr. Manager, Madam Mayor. The day the Economic Development Committee and Jobs Committee met today, And we unveiled a public private partnership between the city of Charlotte and temper sports and entertainment. Um, the meeting, um, went extremely well. I thought in terms of the initial, um, introduction to this partnership that we are examining, as you know, bank of America stadiums owned by the Carolina Panthers, the city of Charlotte owns the land. We had a number of speakers at today's meeting. Just a brief summary of some of the highlights and then Manager Dodson will make a presentation as well. $650 million public support from travel and tourism. Again, these dollars cannot be utilized for anything other than a narrowly tailored purpose, no public housing, no homelessness, no crime of public safety, strictly earmarked for travel and tourism with the support from the hospitality tour.

with support from the Hospitality Travel Tourism Alliance. This is not a blank check, it's a reimbursement. So work has to be done and then the City of Charlotte will reimburse Tepper Sports and Entertainment for the work that's being done. The first tranche of work is city mandated projects. These are projects that the City of Charlotte would like to see done first and foremost. They do not add to his economic interests like suites, those type of things. We have a policy checklist that protects the city's triple A bond rating as we move forward. The deal keeps the team in Charlotte for 20 years, 15 years a hightailer, five years soft. Community benefits, and that's something that we really talked specifically about related to minorities and women in business enterprise.

We had two speakers, Pat Rogers from Rogers Builders and Lorraine from Leeper Construction Company. They were there to lend their expertise. regarding how to get the most MWB participation for a large public project like this. And then lastly, we had Carolyn Wright, who is the Senior Vice President and Chief Venues Officer spoke as well, and she really talked specifically about the modernization of the infrastructure, modernizing building systems, mechanical, electrical, HVAC, structural enhancements to prevent leaks, new seating, upgraded data security, community command center and venue control, pedestrian and social space enhancements on stadium exterior and exterior, expanded team store, upgraded silent video systems,

and safety and security upgrades. The framework was presented today. Obviously, there's a lot of I's to be dotted and T's to be crossed, but the public presentation went extremely well.
