This uh economic uh opportunity committee uh meeting will come to order and it's a pleasure to have you all here and um to welcome you once again to what I think has been a pretty productive opportunity for us uh to meet uh three or four times a year. and to talk about the kind of not only the state of our economy, but just as importantly the state of Fairfox County and what we are doing or what we can do to make it stronger and make it better. Um The first thing I want to do is to uh remind everybody there should be should be have an agenda at your place. Uh and on the back of that agenda is a listing of the folks that are here that are part of our uh Council for Economic Opportunity. And uh please take a look.
We have uh a number of discombined things to get started, uh order of business. Uh we're gonna first and foremost uh remind people about the agenda and then we had Um the meeting summary from our last meeting, which should also be at your place. Our m our last meeting is march tenth, twenty twenty six. I would just ask if anybody had any questions or concerns or changes that they uh wanted to make in that to please identify those now.

And they're also posted as part of the meeting. Yep. Uh not hearing or seeing any uh comments or uh changes, we will move on to the next item. Um Our discussion really today is about what's happening in Fairfax County, uh particularly what is reshaping our regional commercial and institutional uh landscape. And today's session we are looking at examining the momentum and that is building on our local economy. uh identify what factors are driving our local investments, as well as discuss how the county and our partners can position themselves to accelerate growth and maximize long-term impact. We are pleased to have a number of executive leaders here today, including Dr. Stephen Jones from ANOVA, Barry Bass from Silverline Equities, and Rob Ward from Clark Construction, to share their industry's perspective on this topic.
Their insights will set the stage for a larger discussion that we'll have with the Council on their prospective areas of investment and opportunities for growth. The information discussion today will help inform county initiatives for economic competitiveness, which we are working on now and and Jen Miller and our county executive have been working many, many months on as a result of a a board matter from the chairman almost a year ago. And that will help again inform how we proceed and ensure that we're doing this effectively. Um with that I'm going to ask I'm going to go around the table and ask everybody to just briefly introduce themselves and then we will come back and uh begin our presentations.

Uh thank you, Supervisor Stork, uh Chairman Jeff McKay, Chairman of the Board of Supervisors. Uh wanna thank all of our uh private and public sector uh partners who are here this morning uh for this conversation, this important stuff and and look forward to uh continued dialogue.
Uh good morning everyone. Uh Brian Hill, uh county executive, and uh also very happy to be here uh today for this dialogue.
Good morning, gentlemen. Deputy County Executive for Community Development. Good morning. I'm Jennifer Taylor with the Northern Virginia Technology Council. I'm looking forward to the discussion as well. We are unveiling our new three year strategic plan next week. Has a lot in there about economic growth and workforce. And so I'm looking forward to partnering with many of you.
Michelle Reed, Superintendent Fairfax County Public Schools and excited to have just graduated almost fourteen thousand young people into the economy in the last two weeks.
Ann Crest, president Northern Virginia Community College. Um, we had our commencement, about eight thousand students graduated from NOVA this year.
Uh Victor Hoskins, uh CEO of Fairfax County Economic Development Authority. Excited to be here today.
