Okay, then I will forego the petitioner section. Uh and we will go ahead and move directly into our public hearing. I call to order the September seventeenth, twenty twenty five. That's a little bit off. Twenty twenty-six public hearing of Leesburg Planet Commission that is T L R E Z N 2026-00002 and TLSPEX 2026-00001 Loudoun Islamic Center. All members of the public are welcome to address the commission on this application. Persons wishing to address the commission should sign up at the podium. Once recognized by the chair, individuals should have should advance to the podium and state his or her name and address. Persons should also indicate whether they are representing a group other than themselves uh after the presentation.
Or comments, please be seated unless the Chair or members of the Commission have questions of the petitioner or speaker. Statements which are demeaning or defamatory to members of the public, staff, or the commission are inappropriate and out of order. In the interest of fairness, we also ask that you observe the three minute time limit. You will heal hear a bell at the end of three minutes. At that time, we would appreciate your summing up and yielding the floor when the bell indicates your time has expired. Uh however if you are representing a group, please indicate so and we will consider uh allowing up to five minutes to speak. The procedure for the public hearing is as follows. First, staff will present their report.
Second, the applicant will present their case, if any. Third, members of the public will have their opportunity to speak. Fourth, planning commission have questions. Fifth, closing the public hearing or potentially leaving it open until the next meeting. Um so with that we have with us our senior planning project manager Mr. Stop Scott Parker presenting uh as well as our director of community development, Mr. James David. Scott, the floor is yours sir.
Good evening, Mr. Chairman, members of the Commission. Scott Parker, I'm a Senior Planning Project Manager with the Department of Community Development. What we have this evening is we have two requests. We have a rezoning request, 2026-0002. This is a request to amend the proffers of the approved rezoning TLZM 2017-0003. which is governs the village at Leesburg. And this is to allow one thousand five hundred and fifty five square feet of place of worship, specifically at fifteen oh nine Dodona Terrace South East. Suite 110 subject to a special exception approval. So subsequent to that then we have a special exception request, and this is by the Loud and Islamic Center. to allow a 1,555 square foot place of worship within an existing tenant space.
