What are the new FY 27 changes to the Human Service Nonprofit Grant application?

Unknown 0:05
All right, thank you, Barb. And please just mute your lines. If you have immediate questions, please place them in the chat and we will take breaks throughout to answer any questions that are there. And with that, turn it over to Barb. Great, thank you, Megan. I put the link to where you can find all of the grant application information online on the Loudoun County website. So if you want to pull that up as we go through, it has the areas of need. It has the link to the application itself. It also has the RFA. It has all the pertinent information, including the attachments that are part of the application process. And just to address the question in the chat right now, is a letter of intent required to apply?
Unknown 1:02
And it is not required. So with that, we will proceed. So the purpose of the human service nonprofit grant is to strengthen the county's coordination with our nonprofit partners. And it's also to ensure that local funds are leveraged in the most effective manner for services that assist vulnerable and disadvantaged individuals and families in meeting a critical need for safety, health, security, and independence. and also of note that the county prioritizes investment in high quality human services that provide documented positive outcomes for county residents. This year we've had several changes made to the FY27 process. So one is we limited the selection to one area of need. We will go over the areas of need shortly, but we limited it to one of the four areas of need, and then we added an additional eight optional areas of need.
Unknown 2:16
And again, I'll go through that a little bit as we get into the presentation. We also are introducing an introduction to multi-year funding. Now, this does not mean that you're submitting a multi-year funding application in FY27. We're only asking you if you have interest in receiving multi-year funding in the future. So we're not asking, like I said, for a multi-year budget. We're just asking for your interest. We also increased the funding threshold from $113,000 to $135,000. We still have the two mini grant application and standard grant application. The mini grant is up to that 5,000 and then the standard application from 5,001 up to 135. So that has increased. We also have added some changes in the application and supporting documentation.
Unknown 3:25
We've added question asking applicants to explain how their services have changed if they are requesting funds to be used for a different purpose than in prior years. Committee meetings, we ask kind of the best practices is a minimum of six board meetings per year. This year we're allowing committee meetings to now count toward that total number of board meetings required. This year, organizations may attest to having a strategic plan by specifying the applicable years instead of uploading the entire document. Organizations may also provide a photocopy of the signature page to demonstrate that executed MOUs are in place rather than including the entire document in the application. The logic model, which was part of the outcome and evaluation

template has been removed. And then the outcome and evaluation plan has been combined with the impact comparison form. And this is to better show the reviewers the impact that you've made in prior years and what you intend to do in the next grant cycle. Some additional changes. include that some of the application questions have changed a little bit, and you'll see those indicated in blue in the RFA. And this year, instead of the post-application survey being part of the application itself, we've moved it outside of the UNA solution system. So you will get two emails when you submit. One will be from the UNA system saying, your submission is successful, thank you for submitting. And then you'll get another one from the nonprofit email address with a link to the survey asking you to complete that survey.
Unknown 5:34
So that is, those are the changes for FY27. We do have a couple of questions in the chat. Okay. So the first is, Regarding MOUs and contracts for an org that has many programs but is applying for only one, should MOUs be included at the organization or the program level?
