Board members should try to offer all desired amendments and ask questions, any questions you have through the work sessions. Please, well, I'm gonna ask, it says please only offer motions. I'm gonna change this. Please only support motions if you wish to support the tax rate in the end in other words in other words and actually that's not really an issue for this board very much it really is not for this board i'm going to say it anyway don't vote yes on motions if you're not willing to vote yes to support the tax rate that those motions actually put uh put put on the tax rate um

In addition, if you'd like to offer motions on items that do not appear in the proposed budget, please work with staff prior to the work session to ensure your motion's accurate and accomplishes your intended results. When we get to our final vote on April 2nd, staff will not be able to make large changes to the budget during that meeting, and the vote in the budget could be delayed if there are any substantive changes that were not discussed and voted upon during work sessions. OK, supervisors, this will be, I think, our longest night that we have during the budget session. We have a lot of departments coming before us tonight. And then it'll ease up a little bit. And so I know it's a long night. I know it's going to be tough. Everyone kind of just settle in and let's do the best to get in through this. Also, I did change this afternoon the order that I'm going to call the departments up. And I'll get to that order in just a second, but I did completely change the order on which I would have called the departments up. Before I get to that order, I'm gonna ask Ms. Berg to give us a staff update and review the work sessions process. She's also gonna go over the TOTE board. But members, if there are any questions for staff in the packet process, it's also gonna be talked about at this time.

So after I do that, after Ms. Burke gives that update, I'm going to, one, tell you the order for tonight, and two, I'm gonna make the packet motion, because that's the motion we make just to start the process. I know that there is at least one motion on the dais that's not the packet motion to start with, and anyone that wants to make an amendment to the packet motion, you can make it friendly, maybe it'll be accepted, maybe it won't. or you can make an amendment to the motion. But we're gonna start off with the packet motion just because it's logical to do it that way. But first I will go to Ms. Burke. Hello, how are you? Good evening. Thank you for everything. And thank you for all the updates that you've given staff over the past weeks.

Sure, we are happy to be here. So I will just review the items that are in the packet that came out on Friday and then go into item two and then review a couple budget updates from staff. So you'll have item two in your packet, which includes information about the tote board, which is on the screen in front of you. This is the mechanism that staff will use to track all straw votes that the board makes throughout the work sessions. Should a motion pass, the net LTF impact will be tracked as well. You will see the changes made summarized in lines 22 and 23 on the spreadsheet above, and then should motions impact the overall real property tax rate that will be tracked accordingly as well. You can keep track of that in the square that is outlined in red.
