Well good evening supervisors, good evening staff and good evening louding and to all the staff who heard Miss Brixman singing, I apologize to you for that singing for Miss Brixman that you just heard. Um I'm going to call to order the March tenth, two thousand twenty-five. Board Supervisors budget work session. Board members, I'm going to stress the importance of this budget work session as a time to offer changes, additions, and lesions to the budget. You should try to offer all desired amendments. And ask questions you have during the work sessions. Please offer only motions that you intend to support so so we can be efficient with our time um of our limited time during each session.

In addition, if you'd like to offer motions on items that do not appear in your proposed budget, please work with staff in advance um to the work session to ensure your motion is accurate and accomplishes what your goal is. Um when you get when we get To the final vote, which will be on April 1st, staff will not be able to make large changes to the budget during this during that meeting. And the vote on the budget could be delayed if there are substantive changes that were not discussed and voted on during the budget work session. And that is the Commonwealth Attorney's Department that I know I'm asking to bring back. I have some questions. They were sent I sent them to Miss Burke today. She sent them to Commonwealth Attorney. I will bring um him back to get those questions answered, depending on his answers, because I depending on the answers, I I may be making another motion or other motions for the Commonwealth attorney. So I'll let you all know that right now. Now I will uh send you all both the questions and a possible motion. Let me let me reiterate it's only a possible motion. I will not make a motion unless depend it depends on the answer to its questions. Let me also say that we have found out that The mo the b where is it?

Ms. Bricksman, did I hand it to you? Here it is. We have found out that um that the probation and parole office, um, state probation and office, uh their wording limits us to only um do supplements to probation and parole officers, supposedly not to uh office staff. Now the difference the fiscal impact would be about um nineteen thousand eight hundred dollars to the counties. on the county side. However, we're not gonna make that motion tonight because I'm gonna have Mr. Rogers or somebody go talk to um whomever they talk to because what we understand this that there are other localities in Loudoun County that actually um are are doing supplements not just to probation parole officers but to the staffs over there as well.

And so we're trying to clarify that that before we go any further. So it's it's a nineteen thousand eight hundred dollar difference, not that much money, but I do wanna make that I do wanna check that out before you make any motions because what the state's basically saying to us is they're not paying their employees and they're not letting us pay their employees a supplement either, which it's just kind of Illogical. And if other counties are doing it, we wanna find out what's going on. So we'll talk to Mr. Rogers and try to get that straight. I will um at the end of the wrap-up meeting on Thursday make um a motion regarding um um uh putting money again back to the positive and uh in the amount of $189,750 to back to the budget because there was money allocated to expand the early voting to four sites.

We have expanded early voting to two sites, and so we put money back in. So we wait till the wrap-up session to make all those wrap-up motions to get to the final tote board date and so just let just know that I'm aware of those um I'm aware of those discrepancies uh and we're getting some answers on those and we will make them on that that day.
