All right, we're gonna start with a few items, um, and then we're gonna move on to the rural um uses and standards. So um the proposed consent agenda is as followed. As as follows, April um item two, twenty twenty four zoning ordinance committee annual report. Is there a motion to move? the adoption of the consent agenda. Is there a second? The consent agenda was moved by uh supervisor glass and seconded by Vice Chair Turner. Is there any discussion on the consent agenda? Seeing none, all those in favor? Aye. All those imposed? Tonight we have the Environment and Energy Work Plan quarterly update. So in person we have Mark Eveny and I don't think Er Ernie Brown's here tonight, right? Okay. So why Okay, who do we have?

Mark Eveny 10:42

I'm gonna do the introduction. Good evening. Thank you. Good evening. Chair Triponi, members of the committee. Um, I have with me uh Kara Moore, who is our environmental program manager handling the PowerPoint, and Mr. Steve Schwarr, who is our division manager for environment and energy. And we are very pleased to be here this evening to give you our quarterly update on your environment and energy work plan. Uh just by way of background, the purpose of the work plan is to provide A quarterly update to the Transportation Land Use Committee on all the work that is being done on the now 22-item environment and energy work plan, possibly 23 with the addition of invasive species, which we'll talk about in a little bit, and will highlight some successes and upcoming events.

And as always, have time for your questions. Uh just by way of background, this work plan was approved by the board in July of twenty twenty two, and in fiscal year twenty-four we established a budget uh that reoccurs to uh provide resources for natural resources and energy sustainability efforts, which we've been using. Thank you. Uh the timeline. We come to you four times a year. We're obviously here um in April doing our quarterly update. We will be back again um in July giving you uh the annual report from the Environmental Commission. And of course the five initiatives which we focus all our work on sustainable energy, natural resource protection, environmental justice, public engagement, and government by example.

So the first initiative since we last met, uh we have solar installed on the Aldi Fire and Rescue Station. As you know, uh we try to encourage and increase the amount of sustainable energy that we're using in the county. So uh fire stations in particular have embraced this concept, and we've been working with uh our uh other department, uh DTCI, uh to get solar wherever possible on our new buildings. Uh we're also

In discussions with the National Renewable Energy Lab, also known as NREL, on some clean energy and possible data center initiatives, which we talk to you a little bit more about in the coming months. As you know, we have a contract with NREL that allows us to use uh this world-class DOE laboratory in uh Golden, Colorado, to look at some of these things, and we'd like to uh we'd like to take advantage of that contract. And as always, we update you on our public election. Electric vehicle charging. We now have nine locations. We have not added any this quarter. Uh for natural resources, we've been very busy. We had a very successful water quality grant event in March with the Soil and Water Conservation Districts and Homeowners Associations, where we gave out some grant funding for homeowners associations to do water quality improvements such as petway station, tree buffers, and other beneficial practices that protect water quality.
