So as an adult.

And as an adult now, that may be a pattern that's familiar.

Wow.

And then you're trying to fix your partner because if you could fix them, help them, whatever, then you can feel good about yourself.

And rescuers will either attract a perpetrator or a victim normally.

And here's the thing, when rescuers stop being a rescuer and they get more centered inside of themselves, they then will start to look like a perpetrator to the victim because they're no longer saving them.

Right, that's so interesting.

And the rescuer normally had a perpetrator in their life that dynamic when they were growing up.

For me, it was an ex-stepmom energy.

And it was like, I don't wanna be anything like her.

And I, as a kid, had to please in order to feel safe.

I don't want to be like her, and she had a lot of anger, so I don't want any of that, so I'm instead going to be the rescuer.

Wow.

So I had to, years ago, moving into this energy, I had to be okay with being seen as the bad guy because certain people that normally I would fix their situations, I would give them money, I would do whatever, all of a sudden...

I am now more of a perpetrator in that eye.

And you don't want to be a perpetrator when you experience that growing up.
