And look, I I get it.
Like, um, again.
This is somebody who has been around NABJ for a long time, who has gotten from and has given back to uh our beloved organization.
And and I hear that this landed differently uh because it came for us.
That matters to me.
Um, and and that's why I feel like there's an opportunity here.
Like he has a real history with NABJ and I hope.
that our voice matters to him too, because um, you know, yes, we can celebrate your success, but also that is what um gives us the credibility the credibility to really challenge him in this moment because we're in community and that's what community is supposed to be.
But but you know, I hope
The reason that that this lands differently is because NABJ does matter to him.
And I feel like I heard that too in his remarks.
Um, so if we matter to him when we celebrate his success, I hope we matter to him when we say, Look, Steven, we need you to hear us on this.
Um, that's what community is supposed to be able to do.
I don't take any pleasure in in in him feeling some type of way.
That wasn't the purpose of this, right?
Um, but sometimes, sometimes, hopefully.
Um, accountability from people whose respect matters to you is uncomfortable.
And and the question is really, what do you do with that discomfort?
