And he's not the biggest guy by any stretch, an extremely talented player.
And to add a wrench in this whole situation, throw a wrench in this whole situation, he's an RFA, and we know what is going on with Leo Carlson and the Ducks and the Flyers.
We're still awaiting news on that.
Bedard needs a new contract as well from Chicago or maybe from somebody else.
And you wonder how this could affect the negotiations with the Blackhawks, whatever's going on behind the scenes.

I think the answer is simple.
They want to stay where they are versus Carlson, who probably doesn't, if you want to just try to infer the best you can.
So Bedard likely will stay at Blackhawk, but they're going to have to pay him more than they previously thought, simply because of what Philadelphia and Anaheim have constructed here.
