It's sold over the last four years probably something 50,000 copies, which is a lot.
It's a lot for a business book.
I think people say a successful business book, if it sells 10,000, that's a lot.
Yeah, because it's all been through word of mouth.
But the trick with it, I think I wrote that book in over C11.
Say six years.
Holy mackerel.
But it was more like I blogged over here and there.
And I knew I wanted a book, but by leaving Salesforce and doing consulting, I took whatever would have been a 2006 version of any kind of sales book.
And by, I'd say, consulting and working with people for five years, by the time I actually wrote it, it was a much, much, much better and simpler and distilled book.
No, I don't get shit for advance or royalties on the book.
Because this is how it works.
People focus on the stuff that really doesn't matter.
It's good for marketing.
But what matters with the book is reputation, brand, audience.
It's like...
People have called it your big business card.
For example, with an advance, for the new book, predictable revenue, if there's one lesson there, I'd say is if you have a book and you publish something, self-publish, and then don't worry about making whatever book.
I did a practice book before I did a real book.
Now I'm doing the next book is going to be even bigger.
