And this is why I don't want to make out like she's horrible or awful or stupid even.
I think that I completely understand her perspective of why she feels this way.
I don't.
I appreciate, though, the rigidness and the expectation, the rigidness of expectation of influencers, particularly those who are women, in giving free promotional services to people simply because they are a struggling business or a new business.
Because being an influencer is also a business.
Yes.
So what happens is a lot of people use this guilting language of saying, well, women supporting women, you should support women in business.
Also, they actually don't need a makeup artist.
This is not the fucking fuel crisis.
This is hair and makeup.
You know what I mean?
Like she probably can do her makeup herself.
If you are approaching someone, offering them something, it's like when brands message me and they say, we've got this free thing for you.
If I don't like the product, I would just say, hey, I don't want to take up any of your stock for free, whatever.
I can't guarantee a post.
I'd feel bad.
And I used to just take it because I would feel bad of saying no.
But now I've realized that it's worse to take something for free and not post.
So I know I'm up front and I say, hey, I'll make something up.
I'll go, I'm not going out anytime soon.
