When everyone's scratching their head in twenty seventeen, twenty eighteen, trying to figure out if this Beto thing was real, what she pointed out was and I think this the credit to this movement goes to Donald Trump.
She didn't say that, but I am.
Um
She said when I was running, I didn't have anybody helping me underneath the ballot.
There were just weren't state ledge congressional candidates.
She was on her own.
Um, and I mean she had a good uh lieutenant governor candidate with her, but it was just there, it was a bad year, nobody was running.
After 2016, with that Hillary uh flip of those districts, there was just this organic sense of people just getting out and running and reach seats.
And they were normal people.
These were not people who'd been, you know, wanting to run for office their whole lives.
And um Congresswoman Lizzie Fletcher's one of them.
She was a trial attorney and she just decided to run.
And um so
That I think, and I mean Bethel Rourke has said it too, that helped him a lot.
So I think and it's the reverse coattails.
Um and then that kind of died off.
And then I think once Trump won again, that sense is back.
I mean, there the reason there's all these good candidates running um is because they're mad.
And they're also running at the state ledge level.
