And you know, let alone and like in our own lives it has destructive consequences, let alone what that tells us about where our country does, right?
You think about all the wars.
that we fight abroad, um, all of the the sordid history of oppressing other people in the name of this American idea, right?
Whether it was, quote, manifest destiny and destroying uh Native Americans or it was um the the the transatlantic slave trade where you know folks who quote founded this country uh on the backs of of Native folks that they destroyed um then uh uh uh captured people in
Because they thought it was their right.
Right.
And all of this, like a lot of these narratives you kind of see echoed in the ethos of football.
We forged a movement out of that to get money out of politics, put money back in pockets and pass Medicare for all to guarantee health care in this country.
And for our troubles, the corporations, the special interests who would rather get to decide who our elected officials are than let us decide who our elected officials are, they spent an unprecedented amount of money to beat us.
Attack ad after attack ad after attack ad after attack ad.
Wall to wall ads.
But it turns out that the commercials are the part of the television show most people don't want to watch.
It turns out that you can spend as much money as you want on lies, but it doesn't make them true.
And so as folks ask.
If and when we win this race, how are you going to beat Mike Rogers and their money?
I want you to remind them that if we come through this, when we come through this, inshallah.
That we'll have taken $70 million on the chin and kept fighting back.
Let's come together to build a movement that's even bigger, that's even stronger, that's even more powerful.
that reaches into the very depths of this state, that reminds us the best of who we are and who we can be.
That is the commitment I want all of us to be making as we leave here tonight.
