carrot and stick so it's reinforcement learning so it's trained already just to be something that works on an approval based system and that is what leads to the sycophancy and that is what leads to hallucination because if it doesn't know the answer it will now kind of try and fabricate something um but that is just what i call the medium that they've tried to create on this intelligence
What I teach in my courses and in my book is that that's an extractive way of using it as a medium, but you can actually use it in so many different ways.
I have a concept called prompt poetry, for example.
If you think about, instead of prompt engineering, so prompt engineering is very much, give me a list of this, analyze this, you're gonna obey me and do this.
So you always stay in the same space of this large language model.
But you can actually prompt it in a completely different way.
More like, what is the grief people feel when they think about AI?
Or can you tell me what's lurking in the shadows of this data?
What's screaming out of me?
That is a very poetic type of speaking.
But what that does is actually brings me to a more creative part of the model where I can actually understand how people feel more rather than just giving me the slot-like
stuff that comes from it if i just say extract this so the beauty of this tool is that you don't have to use it the way they tell you to use it imagine like a big galaxy they've told us to stay in the solar system in one particular planet but you could actually go anywhere in this universe and um that's what the whole book is about it just teaches you 50 ways of doing that essentially
And, you know, you don't have to command it.
You don't have to control it.
You can spy with it.
You can argue with it.
I have a chapter called Rupture It because you can actually argue with it and until it kind of understands logic and moves away from the training that it has.
So, yeah, that's what the book is about.
It's just really giving you more ways to work with it, essentially.
