So in my time as an indie gamer, I've played lots of Metroidvanias. Your favorite genre. It is my favorite genre. Yes.
And I've just got to say at this point in my life, I think Hollow Knight is a little overrated. There's better Metroidvanias. Oh, my goodness.
How dare you? There's better Metroidvanias with better mechanics that deserve a higher spot than Hollow Knight, in my opinion. Ender Lilies and Ender Magnolia. There's two. Of course he's going to name those. Let's not forget Blasphemous. Blasphemous is an incredible Metroidvania that nobody pays attention to. Okay. Yeah, you know.
It's a pretty game, and it's beautiful, and I don't think it's bad by any means, but at this point in my life, I'm going to say it's overrated.

It feels like such a crazy thing to say Hollow Knight's underrated. I know, right? When you think of indie games, that's one of the first that comes to mind. It is. Oh, yeah, you should play Hollow Knight.
I have to agree. I think that Risk of Rain 2 is completely underrated. At 93, that feels like a crime, honestly, with how good this game is. and how much it, like, innovates on the roguelike genre. Because, like, how many roguelikes do you know that are, like, in a 3D environment like that that you could play with friends, too? Like, that's crazy.
I thrive on the pain and misery.
Well, if Stardew Valley can be a 98% and people think that's fine, I think Hades is underrated because it is absolutely a 99 or a 100. Because aside from where Hollow Knight, where I have played other Metroidvanias that are way better. Sorry, Hollow Knight fans. He's just digging that hole. I know. I'm really digging. I'm twisting the knife real good there. I have not played another, like,
roguelike like hate hand-drawn roguelike like Hades with this much detail and this much like dialogue and beautiful artwork that tops it like nothing has topped Hades in the roguelike genre for me when it comes to like these top-down perspectives yeah that's I mean that's fair there is underrated
