Thank you.
Hey, the results for that battle have still not been determined, all right? The poll never went up.
Hollow Knight will carry me to victory, I swear it.
Yeah, dude, this is going to be dope. As you know, Steam Next Fest just kicked off, which means we get all sorts of new indie demos to check out, man.
I thought this was a super unique game. I'd definitely say Sonic is the first thing that comes to mind, but it's in that genre of runner-style games where it's just run to the end of the level as fast as possible. Yeah. But it has so many unique mixes in there, like diving to go land at the perfect spot so you don't lose any momentum. And then you have the boost board to keep going.
And then the grapple hook to keep pulling on things to keep moving forward. And I was just like, this is so sick.
And it had this awesome, super unique thing too, where you were going, uh, when you entered the level, you were able to go down the tree. Like it was a roguelike basically. Oh, you got upgrades and things like that. And at the end there was a freaking boss. Like I was not expecting boss fights in my runner game, but here we are.
people like definitely keep an eye out for haste haste is a special game and i think that's the most played demo of next fest really i believe so that's pretty good and uh date on that what's that tba yeah that one's yeah i'm still to be determined uh most of these are to be announced we'll we'll see what happens but if they're if there's a next fest demo it probably is coming out this year at some point yeah definitely all right well you got uh you got another one for us heck yeah man
We're looking at a platformer this time called Demon Tides. And you played this one as well, but I'll go ahead and read the Steam description for Demon Tides here. Now, of course they would do this to me. Explore the open seas and uncover the kingdom's dark secrets as you expressively platform your way across dozens of locales, upgrading your gear every step of the way.
And to me, this one, Oh, go ahead. To me, this one felt like a mix of a super Mario odyssey and legend of Zelda, the wind waker.
Oh, yeah. They help so much because it's like... even going from island to island to get to the different like platforming segments, you could turn into a snake and basically water ski across the area at super speed. So you never felt like you were like struggling to get anywhere.
We're seeing a lot more indie developers tackle the platforming genre now. I think it's safe to say Astro Bot may have opened the floodgates in showing people that we're interested in platformers, again, 3D platformers like this.
It's super unique.
I've had enough. The guy who drafted Stardew Valley doesn't like cozy games. Oh, I don't know, man.
I think this one's super unique though. Like as for a cozy survival crafting game where you play as a squirrel and you can do things squirrels do, which is climb trees and things like that. But you can also play this with friends. It's a multiplayer game. And you could build a house in the trees and glide around like it's Breath of the Wild. And there's only one enemy.
And it's just a dog that does not want to let you have peace.
I didn't think this would want to be for you. But I wanted to show that there is a variety of demos out there. Not just action games. Not just platformers.
yeah that one's doing pretty well as well so i recommend if you even think you like survival crafting cozy kind of games check out scrolled away just check out the demo if nothing else and if you hate it you know come tell me in the discord i'll listen yeah i take constructive criticism it wasn't me if you hate it so it's aced but uh awesome well we we got a few more to go over uh and we will do that right after this break
Dude, this game is so unique. This is like so cool. It's a hand-drawn Metroidvania. I know, surprise, Ace picked a hand-drawn Metroidvania. I had a different one lined up. It didn't work out, but I won't slam it yet. but, uh, you fight with a freaking pillar instead of like a sword or an ax. It's a straight up like Coliseum pillar and you use it for platforming and for fighting.
And it's, it's a super unique concept. And the, uh, did you get to the overworld map? I did not. So the overworld map, it works like a legend of Zelda two where you're crossing it and you'll run into enemies. And now you have to walk through a level to get to the end to get back to the map again, or beat all the enemies in the level to get back to the map again.
