Well, again, I think this is a series that tells you whether or not you need to be more active earlier than late July, early August for the trade deadline.
That's how I see this.
Yeah, you can fool yourself enough.
You can put the 10-game win streaks together, and those are good.
There's no doubt about that.
Nobody's arguing against it.
But at the same time, you can't be telling yourself that...
This is what happens if it comes down to a three game wildcard playoff series, for example, or a DS or hopefully a CS.
That's the idea.
That's the goal.
When you look at this team, you're having some truths told to you as well about the nature of the offense, yet again, being streaky as a team, as a whole lineup.
Not just one individual here or there.
And then also, yeah, you have enough pitching.
But at what point is the Band-Aid, when you said, with a healthy Cade Horton at the beginning of the season, with an expected Justin Steele to come back earlier in the season, that you thought your starting pitching wasn't enough?
So how much can you still assess this team and decide what do we need to do and what can we do?
We have the time to figure this out before we get to the point where we won't be able to adjust the roster.
It's not for the Mets, though.
They said June 1st, right?
That seemed to be common.
