So I kind of always shared this, like, that's a wide range, obviously age, like he was 20 years older than me, but that's around the, you know, uh, age of my oldest brother is.
And, um,
He just kind of always had this sensibility in my head and my prism of growing up the way I did.
I kind of always viewed him as somebody that could be an older brother.
He had a lot of wisdom.
He shared it like an uncle does.
Your uncles just share different parts of...
what eventually will be your life.
Like I can talk to him about certain things that I may have been uncomfortable talking to other people about.
Um, he was definitely a sounding board professionally and personally.
Um, and, uh, he was a tremendous friend and, uh, a great phone call, uh, during, you know, the week, uh, especially in the off season.
Um, and, uh,
he was a tremendous, uh, partner.
Gosh, I, you know, I, I, I espoused about this a lot the other day and I just, I don't know if people, I hope people really appreciate how good he was at the job.
Uh, I think the catchphrase is kind of, uh, and the exuberance and the personality sometimes not overshadow his basketball acumen.
I just think so many more people, uh,
gravitate towards that because it's easier.
The most casual viewer is going to hear a reference they like or hear something that tickles their brain and makes them laugh and they're going to latch on to that.
And that just was a really good avenue for him to be able to break down the game in a way that
the purist would appreciate the casual fan would appreciate and understand.
