I don't want to, it's there's a couple organizations, but I'll just start off this way.

I came to Washington, I can't believe I'm saying this now, like almost 25 years ago.

And the main thing that was motivating me back then was debt and deficits.

I'm a I'm a fiscal guy, just so everyone is clear on what I came to Washington for was to get our debt and deficit under control.

So at the time I thought the best way forward for

Me was in Team Red, and because at least Team Red was giving me a lot of like they were talking like they cared about debt and deficits.

Now their actions are a little different than their than what they say, but at least that's where I was.

And then for on the journey I've been on in my old organization, which was one of the one of the original Tea Party organizations, I watched how the base that we worked with, the conservative activist base, moved from

Being very serious about debt and deficits, to I don't know if they really matter anymore.

There's other issues we'll deal with.

I've stayed the same place.

I do think that debt and deficits matter.

So I had to rethink for myself like how was the best way to accomplish this?

And I saw the rise of independent voters.

And when we started to get into trying to understand who these independent voters were, I found that independent voters they care about debt and deficits.

Deficits, they care about immigration, they care about health care.

They care about all of these major issues.

They just lost faith that either party was going to be able to do something about it.

And then they also liked, hey, Democrats have some good ideas here, and Republicans have some good ideas here.

Maybe if we can merge these two things together, we could actually get legislation.
