Ned Ludd was an activist in the UK at the advent of the Industrial Revolution.

Him and his cronies smashed up all the machines saying they're going to cost us all of our jobs.

And he was right about that was Ned Ludd.

And conveniently, his name sounds like someone who's not going to do well with technology.

Ned Ludd could never have started Facebook.

Anyway, what I'm saying is, is if you live in a community where you know, whether it's 100 people or 500 people, or maybe it could be even bigger, that what you do every day supports the feeding of the people and it supports the energy needs and the craft needs, then you are not going to feel like you're pointless because you won't be pointless.

I think a lot of us secretly know we're totally expendable.

But that's not just if you're doing a zero hours contract, low level migrant work, hanging outside Home Depot.

You could be the biggest movie star in the world and you're disposable.

You don't mean anything because what you're doing and what you're participating in is meaningless.

Um, well, I suppose God, I don't know what you'd even describe it as Adam, but I like used to go to when I was a kid, when I was like coming off of drugs and getting into thinking, I used to go to a lot of protests and stuff in my country.

And a lot of them were like left wing things, you know, like supporting dockers marches.

The first one, in fact, I just turned, I just was there by mistake.

I was hanging out and a riot went by me.

I got excited and I got involved.

It was like police force on horseback and people shouting.

cracking up the paving stones and throwing them.

I was like, oh my God, this is crazy and exciting what's going on.
