Got a lot of untapped potential.
I think his physical tools give him a high defensive ceiling, but he was not as great of a defender as some people suggest he was this year at Carolina.
What he was was a much better offensive player.
I was not expecting him to average 20 points per game.
He shattered the competition in terms of dunks per game, averaged more dunks per game than Zion Williamson did at Duke, to put it in perspective.
So...
This is someone who, when he gets between the lines, competes with a terrific motor that highlights his athleticism, has the potential to become a really impactful defender based on those physical tools.
And if he can either improve his creation or extend his shooting range, then I think the offensive ceiling may be higher than we thought, too.
what do you say i think here's what i can tell you guys um they had they traded for darius garland uh this season and he is presumably their point guard of the future and unless they have a deal to move him which there's been almost no rumblings about they've got it if they're going to take a guard they've got to take a guard who fits with him um i don't think darius acuff can play with darius garland i think that's too much of it there's not enough collective size there's not enough
collective defense so i think while acuff is the guy who will finish at number five in the cbs sports big board wogler has been the one that i have mocked here from the beginning because he can play off the ball now the other thing that i will tell you a little intel here is that the the potential for a trade um the clippers are now working out players that might be available later in the lottery so for example like they just did a workout with nate amen or they're scheduled to this week if they haven't already
while there is one sense that maybe Ament could be a candidate at five, I view that more as a plausible, we may be trading back in the lottery, trying to pick up another asset.
Because remember, amidst the backdrop of this is the whole Kawhi Leonard investigation and what will come from that.
And there is a very real possibility they lose future draft assets.
So if they can take this fifth pick, get the guy they want, add another pick to it, it would make a lot of sense for the Clippers.
