It's important to keep in mind that at the end of 1960, the series moved to New York, which, while it's a decision that many fans are quite sad about, because it marked the end of Bob Bailey's tenure, it did produce a different show. podcast-host

It starred New York radio actors... podcast-host

And John Stone had just become the writer of the series, with a local New York producer becoming the series producer-director. podcast-host

So, they already have a different vibe. podcast-host

And there are quite a few radio fans who actually consider Mandel Kramer their favorite Johnny Dollar. podcast-host

In fact, radio historian John Dunning listed Kramer as his favorite Johnny Dollar until he came across the Bailey recordings. podcast-host

So while I appreciate the concerns and I would agree that quality has gone down, I would not have the expectation that it will continue to go down or that you can judge how the 1960 to 62 New York series is going to go based on the episodes that we're hearing now because it's a different series. podcast-host
