Well, Johnny's goodness and kindness comes out of having seen the ugliest parts of humanity and choosing to hold on in spite of it. podcast-host

Certainly, most people who have gone out into the world open-hearted, and they've gotten mugged by reality, and they've adjusted. podcast-host

They've become more cautious, and that not everyone who pretends to be your friend is your friend. podcast-host

But oftentimes, there's an overcorrection. podcast-host

And so it's understandable that Johnny ends the episode knowing full well that Dolly's world never truly existed, but really wishing that it did and that he could live there. podcast-host
