Oh, I've definitely been there. matched

I think I was there when I started getting asked to give speeches more often and as a shy introvert, I was afraid of public speaking. matched

And I decided that in in those moments it was more important for me to face my fears than it was to feel happy. matched

I'm glad I did that 'cause now I I actually love speaking most of the time. matched

I think there definitely I mean, there's probably a good decade of my life where I traded I'd say, you know, I on a zero to ten scale. matched

It would have been much easier to be at a nine in happiness if I worked less. matched

And I deliberately chose to be at a seven or an eight because I had projects that I found meaningful and things I wanted to get better at. matched

And I said, I'm okay not being happy in these moments or not being as happy as I could be in these moments. matched

Because meaning matters more to me than happiness. matched

I was okay with that trade-off, but I wouldn't have wanted to, you know, to pursue success and drop myself down to a two or three in happiness. matched

And I don't think I would have found any happiness or any meaning if success were the main goal. matched

Uh, I think it's always been like, how do I create something that's worthwhile for other people? matched

How do I gain the freedom to use my time in ways that are worthwhile for me? matched

And if I can do those two things, I hope success and happiness are byproducts. matched
