Well well well that was where the screening of Josephine was so bizarre.
This isn't a movie that I want to spoil and it's a movie that in some ways I'd love to have a longer conversation about later because I'm really mixed on how I feel about this film.
The Beth Darusho film about a married couple, Channing Tatum and Gema Chan, whose daughter goes through something terrible and then is kind of haunted by it.
I found the literal haunting aspect to be
A mixed bag for me.
But the parts that people were clapping at, believe me, it wasn't the sort of like child haunted by trauma stuff.
It's like the when the movie gets into the courtroom and when they feel like something has been said that is defiant for them or a kind of truth to power has been spoken, even if it's by a child.
And people were kind of clapping.
And I remembered thinking at the time, I mean, the filmmaker's in the building, in some ways, it's an impressive movie.
