I mean, there's a degree to which this movie is playing a game of wish fulfillment.

That plays out in a lot of the set pieces, you know, like commandeering the movies that you used to watch, and now you get to make them and they can be how you want and about what you want.

Or you project yourself inside of them, or you can kind of pilot this fictional serial killer as a way to get rid of all the people who are frustrating you in your in your life.

Or, you know, the movie star that you've been crushing on your whole life, you know, is like inviting you in to hang out.

But you know, and we'll get there.

But what's interesting is when you say you identified with the films and so did I, it's tricky because on the one hand, there is no shortage of movies that are made for the kind of cinephile demographic and which flatter them and cater to them.

This is the post Tarantino phenomenon of like

You know, critics get turned into to to fanboys and to greater or lesser degrees, some artists do that and a lot of hacks do that.

Jane's an artist.

But also we're kind of imperfect people to be talking about a movie like this because the points of identification and the points of difference are very significant.

And yet that loops back around to the fact I think I read an interview with Jane.

I don't want to misquote where they said, How many trans filmmakers in the United States have had the kind of releases and budgets that I've had?

And it's like,

The only one.

Uh so there's there's actually a number of significant trans filmmakers in the film making cameos and Jane is in communication not just with, you know, mainstream slasher signifiers and top forty alt rock, but with that, you know, artistic community and tradition.

That's a wonderful thing that then on a mainstream film podcast or in mainstream outlets, it's being reviewed and looked at by critics for what their points of convergence are.

Because those points of convergence are actually in some ways, and I'm I I'm I'm I'm saying something that a critic, Sam Brogen, wrote in reverse shot, they're profoundly uncool.

I kind of like how uncool the reference points in this, in this

movie are.

They're actually not Vanguard.
