I'm about halfway through this novel by Paul Tremblay called Horror Movie.
I don't know if you've I haven't read it.
Read it, which is about uh
a kid who made in high school a horror movie with a bunch of other kids that like never got released, like only two or three scenes ever got put on YouTube and now a studio is trying to remake it.
And it's uncanny how close his scenes meeting with the executives are to the scenes in um
In in miasma, I think the two projects are completely independent of each other.
My implication isn't that one takes from the other, but they're almost identical.
It's like meeting with executives in the like, yeah, we want to get that nineties feeling, but like remake it now and you know, make it modern.
I mean, this is the condition of a lot of modern horror making.
And again, when we talked about the Counting Crow's little death scene.
You t you mentioned that the visual language in it.
I mean, it is the visual language of elevated horror.
or an idea of elevated horror or an idea of an idea of elevated horror.
I don't think this movie has much truck with that idea.
It doesn't come out and openly say, I hate this shit, because it's kind of doing that shit.
But you'll notice it doesn't do it for the entire movie.
think Jane I don't think Jane would be caught dead making that movie.
And we don't have to say what that movie is, because I know you like some of these movies and I like some of these movies.
And I think saying backrooms or obsession or any movie is just like what's right or wrong with horror is a losing
