We remember that incident a couple of off-seasons ago.
It was supposed to be a five-year probationary period.
The judge involved, who I understand is retiring here, he's an outgoing judge.
And somehow, Rasheed Rice was ordered to serve the 30-day sentence, now for a violation to his probation, which...
we assume was some sort of positive test for marijuana.
I think what I think what's going to happen here, unconfirmed, is now he'll be reentered into the NFL's drug program.
But again, you remember in the last CBA interview,
There are no suspensions disciplined for marijuana.
But you can be entered into the program and subject to other tests.
Go ahead.
Ty and I talked about this this morning.
Here's a guy when we see wide receiver salaries exploding across the league,
and he's just about as good as any receiver in the league, and he's entering the last year of his contract, if we just took away all the off-the-field incidents, all the mishigas that comes along with it, then you'd be talking about a player right now who would be getting an extension this offseason at somewhere between $35 and $40 million, I guess.
And so now, instead of getting that extension, which isn't going to be coming anytime soon, he's going to be now in a jail cell rehabbing an injury.
going into the last year of his contract without a new deal on the horizon.
And it's really unfortunate.
It's all there for him.
It was loose cartilage.
It was a debridement.
And obviously, you wouldn't have done when you did if you were going to jail the next week for 30 days.
