Because in some cases, what has become the pronunciation of the name in college or from wherever else isn't necessarily the way they want it said.

de Bonza, for example,

I was with him and his dad, and his father's name is Anise, and AJ is Anise Jr., and they both said to me, we want you to say whatever number he's picked to say Anise to Bonsai instead of AJ.

I think he's still going to go by AJ, but that's an example.

But we also then, the folks in the league office write it out for me phonetically.

I'm sure when you pronounce names on air it was the same, and I do the best I can.
