They needed a number one receiver like desperately.
That was one of their things that held them back last year was they needed a guy like like DJ more desperately.
And they have since Stefan Diggs left and even the last the edge of end of Stefan Diggs there wasn't.

So they needed a player like DJ Moore.
They're in a position that they're chasing a Super Bowl.
The Bears needed to clear cap space.
They have the ability.
They put themselves in the space where they can move on from a player like DJ Moore and still feel pretty good about what they have in-house.
bring in the draft capital, clear that cap space because they have other more urgent needs on the roster.
It just made too much sense for everyone involved.
And it does suck to lose a player like DJ.
It really does.
