Also, you were talking about how, and I got that as well from reading it as well, how it's a kind of love story between son and mother, giving the mother the space to sort of see her in all her beauty.
Yeah, it's just, I suppose when anybody, a child sort of looking back on a life where a child has to recount on anything that is traumatic, like Rabbit is doing, it comes through in sort of fragments, imaginative fragments.
And, yeah, I was sort of struck by, when you're reading now, I'm struck by the first time that I read it as well.

Yeah, well, first, yeah, I read it more than once.
I dipped back into it.
But it was like these moments of imagery that sort of,
comes come through but they don't feel stark and they don't feel confronting and i'm one and i was wondering why that was i was wondering why it wasn't didn't feel brutal in any way and i think it's got something to do and doubling back to like our original conversation it's got something to do with how you interrogate it it's got something to do with the the you just wouldn't
Allow yourself not to keep looking at the angles, not to keep looking at this thing.
There's one way of just presenting something in its start and its brutality.
That's one way of just doing it.
And then job done.
There's another way in which I, as a reader, felt held because I was going, he cares for our experience while reading this.
He cares that... And in the same way that the mother is holding...

The actual image of, like, the idea of... Yeah, maybe this might be the last thing, the idea of, like, the... I don't know, the sort of... The reason for writing it is to sort of...
the most simplistic way is to create something beautiful out of sort of things that, events that we go through in our life and maybe it's sort of the poet's mission to try and do that or the artist's mission to try and do that in some way and how that sort of tallies in with this sort of shadow puppetry.
