But every day that passes, it becomes clearer to me that the only difference between myself and three other representatives, now representatives, that were sworn in under special elections is the fact that I'm going to be that 218th signer. matched

Well, I didn't, I mean, my dad, Congressman Grijalva, left like an incredible legacy of public service. matched

And so as a Zeldas daughter, we all got little bits of his personality. matched

And so public service in this way, in elected office, was something that drew me in. matched

And so when he passed away, you know, my youngest son, actually, Joaquin said, so if you don't do it matched

if you don't run, who's going to, and are they going to do a better job than you? matched

And what would that say? matched

So he made, he made the path for me very clear because, you know, as a mom, I know many of us are parents when you, you have to make sure your kids are good before you're able to, you know, provide help to anybody else. matched

And so as long as I knew that they were going to be okay, we did this and we, um, we announced on March 31st, like, matched

two weeks after my dad died. matched

And within four and a half hours, we had enough signatures to be on the ballot, like totally verified, ready to go. matched

So this community just overwhelmingly supported me and has continued to do that. matched

And I am so angry for Arizonans that they want a representative, whether you voted for me or not, I am your representative and I'm getting shut out of office. matched

being able to vote and support in the way that we know is critical. matched
