I can't wear shorts in public because I have to wear...
a ghastly, ultra-tight compression sock on my left leg.
Why?
Because I broke my leg donkeys years ago and completely knackered the veins, and I ended up – this is too much detail – I ended up with a DVT and all sorts of madness.
So I need to get sort of six builders into my bedroom first thing in the morning to pull the wretched thing on.

And then, yeah, and it's that awful sort of hearing aid beige collar.
Yeah.
So I'm just too filled with shame, actually, to walk around in shorts.
They don't come.
No, these are Class 3s, mate.
They only come in black.
Like those pretend tattoo sleeves?
