And I was, you know,

into my acting and I love dancing too, but I couldn't dance like that.

So she wanted to go and study dance and I wanted to go and study and be an actor.

But I'm just remembering her now and remembering that period and just smiling and beaming across my face.

But the thing started to separate, of course, when I left Birmingham and went to drama school.

And so when I went to drama school and I was in my first year,

And which drama school was this?

I went to RADA.

a new piece, which was, again, this was something that you theater was involved in.

Um, Derek Nichols also ran the Birmingham rep and he had a thing called the young company going.

So he'd audition actors that had just left drama school.

He'd have them in the young company for a year.

So as a young actor, you were watching people who just left drama school, um,

play at the birmingham rep in a rep company and they would you'd watch how well they were able to change their their physicality and their voices and connect with the roles and it was fascinating so he encouraged you to he he encouraged me to apply for drama school and apply um ferrara and i'd also by then i'd written the play and taken it on a very very small tour of
