Now, you can do the maths in your own head.
If you have a diesel car, say a 1.6 diesel, that will typically, for about 500 kilometres, that would run you about €50 to €60.
So that is quite... It is.
To be fair...
And people always say this in the electric car charging debate.
Most people do charge at home if you have a driveway.
But what we're reporting on this morning is that for those who don't have their own driveway, maybe they're in an apartment, maybe they're in a terraced house, the price of public charging is gradually creeping up.
Yeah, you would.
Now, the usual riders apply.
So for people who don't drive an electric car, it usually comes a shock to them when they go out onto a motorway and they find that their range is cut by 30 or 40%.
If they drive in wintertime, their range drops like a stone.
If they're driving against the wind, their range drops.
But generally speaking, yeah, the car that I have, 450 kilometers, is usually fine.
Yeah, they did in general terms.
So they say that their charging prices in general are influenced by four factors.
Electricity procurement costs, they say, operating costs, infrastructure investments and local market conditions.
And when you add a combination
you know, of those four up, you get in Ireland a more expensive territory than most other countries.
They did also add that they say, and I'm quoting here, that Ireland is generally considered one of the most expensive EU markets when it comes to electricity costs.
