I completely agree with your friend.
Um, I celebrate my students when they have a really wonky way of coming up with what six times eight is.
And what they might do is they go higher, you know, up to sixty, and then they have all these tricks to go back down till they can figure out what six times eight is.

But I also think he needs to hear your side of it why we do it this way.
And often I talk about efficiency.
This is more efficient in the long run.
This is the standard way that most people will understand.
And so if you can understand and know how to do this way too.

That's amazing.
And so going back to that why again, you know, especially autism students, they have to know why.
