This is a really, really good idea for those reasons.

We're hardwired.

for distraction and so try to find somewhere quiet to maybe do the homework.

For my kids, they didn't love sitting at a desk, but they were willing to do it at the kitchen table or on their bed or on the couch with me.

And then from there, so we've covered it emotional.

I'm trying to keep track of it all.

So from there, then it's like, can you do three problems for me?

So back to that task initiation, they might resist it at first.

And so three problems.

And they might say, No, I'm I'm no mom, I won't do it.

Okay, how about two?

Can you give me two?

Can you give me one?

And you can even go as far as, will you write your name on the paper?

You know, like just going back, back, back until you find something they can say yes to.

And sometimes at the end of the day, really, it's just that you and your child have this strained relationship and it's probably time to get a tutor involved at that point.

Someone neutral to come in and work with your child because most likely they're gonna be polite to that person.

I try to show them how much you really can get done in a ten minute span.

I'll make them aware of that time because so many of them do struggle with time.
