So like if you bought $10,000 of stock, right?

And you put in $5,000 of your own money and $5,000 of the bank's money.

If the stock happens to drop from $10,000 to $6,000, you know, some people, if you're not in finance, you might think, well, okay, now I have 3000 and I owe the bank 3000, but that's of course not how it works.

You still owe the bank 5,000.

So now your equity is down to, you know, a little, you, all the, all the losses come out of your side of the thing because you still owe them money.

And what's most important is if this green part ever dropped under the red part, the bank would be worried you couldn't pay them back.

So when it gets even close, they do what's called a margin call.

And they call you up and they say, hey, if you don't put more fresh cash in here to top this up, we're going to sell everything you own to make sure we can pay back the red part.

Because we're afraid.

We can't squeeze any more out of what you got.
