The power play had four goals, and the penalty kill gave up eight against Anaheim, which is just absolutely not the way that they wanted it to go, to say the least.
And, I mean, you think about the talent up front that Anaheim has, you know, Beckett Seneca, Troy Terry, Leo Carlson, all these guys.
Ryan Poehling, he came out of nowhere.
He came out of left field, and he absolutely dominated.
And, well, the Oilers' penalty kill was playing hurt.
Leon Dreisaitl missed the final 14 regular season games and Connor McDavid was obviously playing with something that was ailing him.
Jason Dickinson came out screaming in game one.
He was a game time decision that game, mind you.
But you could tell that he was laboring something as well.
And you take all these injuries and you start to add them up and you realize this was an Oilers group that was incredibly hurt heading into the postseason.
And Knobloch commented on that.
