Beginning today, the Social Security Administration is going paperless, which means federal benefit payments will be issued electronically.
The change was announced in an executive order issued by President Trump in March.
The White House says paper checks create, quote, unnecessary costs, delays, and the risk of fraud.

Treasury Department.
