Alberto Carvalho, the suspended Los Angeles school superintendent, is asking to be returned to his position, according to a statement released by his attorneys, who say he has, quote, always acted in the best interest of students.
Carvalho, who has led the district since 2022, was placed on administrative leave last month following the raid when he and his wife were handcuffed and placed in the back of a car while FBI agents searched their home, taking computers, cell phones and other items.
The search warrants were sealed and the government has not given details on the nature of the investigation.
But Carvalho's leave began just two days after the FBI launched an investigation related to a failed AI chatbot project for the district.

The 50 Iranian warships that CENTCOM has sunk were part of Iran's traditional navy, not among the small fastboats the IRGC uses to threaten the Strait of Hormuz.
