But if they'd listened to people a couple of weeks ago when they were warned by the different, like the farm organisations, the hauliers, they had warned them that this movement was building.
Yeah, and the Minister O'Brien came out this week and he said that, we'll say last week, Faith Burrell, head of the International Energy Agency, warned that Europe had maybe six weeks of jet fuel left, which I was like astonished by.
O'Brien said Ireland is closer to a year's worth of jet fuel thanks to direct supply from the US.
But also in that particular piece from Jennifer Bray, she reports that O'Brien says the 29,000 applications for retrofitting grants have been made in the first three months of the year alone, 96% more than the same period last year.
and that's for we'll say installing heat pumps attic installations and applications window and door upgrades and just on that I suppose we have at home we got a TAMS grant for putting in solar panels on the roofs of the farm buildings so going back I was saying like the landowners you can facilitate
having solar farms in your land, but equally you want to put solar panels up in the roofs.
But at the moment, a lot of the applications are being rejected because the fund isn't there to be able to.
So the system is all in place and all the people want to do it, but the money just isn't there.
So I think like if it's one good thing that comes out of this fuel crisis is that if there is a ramping up of people retrofitting houses and putting in more solar panels, it will be for the longer term interest for everyone.
