Now, the only thing I would caution is Spain has to hold elections within the next year, specifically before August of 2027.
And if those elections are scheduled during the summer and there are fires going on, as happens almost every summer in Spain, then maybe climate will actually be part of the conversation.
Unfortunately, I don't think there will be major change.
It's interesting because if you look at the big surveys of Europeans, Spaniards tend to rank among the Europeans that most believe in man-made climate change and most want solutions to be proposed.
But ultimately, this doesn't end up being a major driver in the elections that I've covered over the last few years, despite the fact that they generally take place during droughts, during situations where climate is very much part of the economic conversation.
And just to the point that Theodore was making, I do think that this ties into so many other problems that we see in Spain and in other parts of Europe where we're talking about a housing crisis.
One of the government's big policies is to try to promote non-massive urban centers.
But when, you know, returning to the countryside means you're going to be facing these kind of threats, it's just it's not of interest to people.
So then they keep
going to the urban centres that already are impossible to afford.
So it just, it adds on to a problem that continues to perpetuate itself.
