It's yeah, the fact that it's been brought up now multiple times by very, very, very credible sources.
It scares me a little bit because I it would venture that into a realm that I didn't think that the wild were willing to explore.
I probably enjoy Jesper Wallstead as much as a 28 year old man can enjoy a 23 year old Swedish goaltender.
my hesitation here is with Philip Gustafson.
You think about his time with the wild, like he has shown.
Yes, he can be a number one goaltender and he can be a great goaltender, but all the times that he's, uh, all the seasons that he's been with the wild, he's had either Mark Andre flurry or Jesper Wollstead as his, like,
backup slash one B option.
And I don't think we've ever seen him in the Connor Hellebuck role where, you know, the backup is getting in sparingly here and there, and he's taking on that brunt workload.
We've seen him go on, on runs of games where it's like, I can't believe they're starting him again on like one day's rest after he started the past three.
But also when you, when you've seen that he's been at the very peak.
And I just don't know if that is the most sustainable thing moving forward.
That being said,
when it comes to acquiring a one C you're going to have to make a move and you're going to like, you're going to have to give significant value to make a team move off of that.
Especially if it is the St.
Louis blues in division, they're going to want to see Robert Thomas probably go somewhere else.
Cause he is under contract for a hand handful of seasons here moving forward.
at a very, very, for a 1C, a very good value AAV, I just feel like they would want to take the Wild's top chip, which would be Jesper Wallstedt, which I would hate to have to have the Wild go up against Jesper Wallstedt multiple times, watch him develop, because I do believe that he is going to be
I feel like the term franchise goaltender has lost its luster.
And a lot of the guys, you're not going to see a Carey Price anymore.
You're not going to see a prime Andre Vasilevsky.
