And people are really attributing that, again, to the strength of the U.S.
economy.
Recently, we saw numbers actually revised up for second quarter growth, suggesting that the momentum has really continued to pick up in the last couple of months.
And that's really benefited companies like CSX, Norfolk Southern Corp., and then on the trucking side of things, DAT Solutions and J.B.
Hunt.
Yeah, and they're an interesting group to keep an eye on because unlike a lot of the other transport stocks like railroad operators, airlines have been the sort of the drag on the transport index throughout the year.
There was a lot of concern in the first half of the year about a price war breaking out among airlines.
But more recently, we've actually seen shares of United Continental and Delta and American Airlines sort of regain ground, thanks in part to some better than expected earnings from a couple of the companies and then sort of more optimistic guidance from industry leaders like United.
Yeah, in the last couple of days in particular, we have seen U.S.
crude oil prices spiking, and that's in part due to fears about supply disruptions as we see a couple hurricanes barreling toward the U.S.
So, you know, if we see oil prices really rise and extend their gains, that could hurt especially airline companies and trucking companies because, again, that raises the price of business for them.
Right.
And that could sort of have a multilayered effect because, you know, it raises fuel prices and also just generally raises trade tensions.
And that has, of course, been a headwind for the stock market this year.
Underneath the sort of broader market recovery that we're seeing, there probably are some investors who are feeling a little bit cautious.
It sure does.
And it's interesting because it's happening as the S&P 500 is less than a percent away from breaking its January record.
So we've seen a general recovery across the broad market over the last couple of months.
And, you know, some of the usual suspects have been responsible for those gains, like tech stocks like Amazon, Facebook.
But then we've noticed that companies that are selling things like laundry detergent, cereal, razors, they've been doing really well.
