And so this came up in the Colorado race.
Diana DeGette was saying, I'm the only person, you know, with enough seniority and on the right committee to actually get Medicare for all to bring it up for a vote.
And Melak here is saying you've been on this committee for a couple of years.
You take all this money from the pharmaceutical industry, which is the number one industry opposed to Medicare for all legislation.
Can you explain why you haven't done anything on this yet?
And people are tired of hearing that stuff takes time because they're seeing things being smashed and broken and changed around them at record speeds.
And so I just don't think the argument that, oh, well, do you have the votes for to abolish ICE is like that.
That doesn't play with voters like they want to see people who are willing to actually try whether or not the institutional barriers to getting that done are are there or not.
Yeah, I mean, I think one of the really interesting things that's come out of this primary cycle so far is the notion that despite...
the historic levels of outside spending that we're seeing in these races that people without that much money can still win, I think is like shifting this dynamic a little bit.
But then on the flip side, you know, Republicans have this insane war chest.
And I believe the Supreme Court just issued another decision that lifts caps on how political committees can fundraise with parties.
And so that's going to open up another floodgate of money coming into these races.
And, you know, even after primaries coming into November.
But now I think like the average person, you know,
if you walk up to them on the street and ask them, do you think money in politics is a problem?
They would say yes.
I think it's like, yeah, the literacy around this among the average person is much higher.
And they see that as directly tied to inaction and the status quo.
We're seeing outside spending from the AI industry and the Israel lobby has been a very big spender in these races.
