It came out of a guy in Pittsburgh who's pretty connected, and he said he told them it was three years or, you know, I'm not going to put words in his mouth, but it sounded like it had to be three years no matter what, and they weren't willing to do that.

They're another team that crunches numbers very well and, you know, does the analytics, and, you know, teams just weren't willing to do that.

So you look at that, getting guys at the right price, the bonus-laden contracts for the older players, I thought it was, you know, a smart deal by Jersey, and I really like the guy if you give him ice time.

And I know he didn't score in the playoffs, but I thought the center icemen outside of Sidney Crosby were awful in Pittsburgh in the playoffs and no one put up numbers.

Ben Kendall did not have a good playoffs.

I was watching the games and, you know, he's a right-handed center playing with Manta.

Manta wasn't getting the puck at all, but he was the one guy that was out there crashing and banging and creating mayhem.

So, you know, I thought teams would have to take a shot at him.
