One generation later, somebody comes in after Solomon's gone and the discipline of the Lord comes.
They steal those golden shields.
And then from that point on, what Israel essentially does is they try to project the image of prosperity and power, but they don't actually have it anymore.
So they put these bronze shields in the ground.
And which are, they look like gold, but they're not gold.
This is what we do.
They look like the real thing, but it's not the real thing.
And then they guard them.
Then they had to guard them.
And I think what the book of James is calling us into is that don't go that way.
Instead, actually enter into reality.
Live in the way that God created you to be, and this is where you're going to find fulfillment.
And that's where you solve that dilemma between faith and works.
They're not contradicting one another.
This is how we live out reality.
There was a place when I lived in Gainesville, Florida, there was a place that was like right down the street from our house.
And it was called the Hippodrome Theater.
And it was where they had all the plays and things like that.
But that's that idea.
That's a good, actually a great caveat on the word hypocrite.
